I am proposing an article to the New York Times titled ““Yes – I Said I Do! -- To A Re-Do – Seven Couples Who Renewed Their Vows Tell Their Stories.” I am looking for wedding experts and wedding planners to tell me the various reasons why couples renew their vows. Have you been hired for wedding renewals? How was it different from first weddings? Why do people renew vows? I am looking for couples of all ages, ethnic groups, and genders who recently renewed their vows or are planning to do it soon. I will ask them to e-mail answers to these questions for starters: Tell me about each of you. Your ages when you first tied the knot. Your age now. When and where did you first meet? When and where you were first married? Was it the first marriage for both of you? If not, tell me about previous marriages. How long have you been married? Are there children involved? When and why did you get the idea of renewing your vows? Did you do it for other reasons than having a fun party? Was it just one of you coming up with the idea? Did you need to convince your partner? If so, how did you do it? Were there other reasons you wanted to renew your vows? Please tell me in detail. What did you do? Where did you do it? Who did you invite? How many people did you invite? If so, who were they? Did you do it like a “real” wedding with flowers, music, photographers, and food? Did you hire a wedding planner? Were your friends and families supportive of this? If not, why not? Did you make a grand entrance as if you were newlyweds? If you already renewed your vows, please tell me in detail how it worked out. Tell me more…things I should have asked you.

  • Whether it’s a mildly upset stomach, a bout of traveler’s diarrhea or a serious case of food poisoning, a vacation is just about the worst time for tummy troubles. I’m interested in hearing your travel stories of how stomach issues affected (or wrecked) your vacation. I also want to hear about your strategies for avoiding gut trouble on the road, and coping with issues when they strike. I’m particularly interested in hearing from medical professionals and food and beverage workers about frequent causes of tummy troubles and what to watch out for when traveling.
