According to a 2025 survey by The Predictive Index, 46% of U.S. workers say their boss only somewhat or rarely understands what they contribute. Another survey found that 20% of employees lack confidence that their managers can fairly assess their job performance, calling into question the validity of performance evals. I'm looking for people who can talk about both sides of this -- who can express frustration/empathy around past jobs where bosses/employers might not have fully understood someone's job or the value of their contributions, as well as those who can share examples of how their business operates in a way that mitigates this condition so that the staff feels truly seen and appreciated in their roles.
