It's a "how to" on retiring in the country for folks who want to retire there and have questions about finances and costs, tax issues, lifestyle, culture, and benefits/perks for US retirees. We need these queries answered for the story. 1. Where does the UK stand as a retirement destination for US retirees? Better yet, any personal stories about visiting or living in the UK? 2. What are the most pressing issues when retiring in the UK and how should retirees address them? 3. What about the cost of living in the UK? What does it cost to buy a 2-bedroom home or rent a 2-bedroom home? What about dinner out at a restaurant or cost of groceries and utilities? 4. How is the health care experience in the UK and what should ex-pats know before moving there on the medical care front? 5. Are there any special tax or benefit packages for Americans who set up and retire in the UK? 6. Where, in your opinion, are the best places to retire in the UK and why? 7. Are there any good direct flights from the US to major cities in the UK? 8. What about crime and safety? What should retirees know when moving to the UK?
