I'm looking for sleep doctors and/or psychologists to comment on the following:
- What is a detailed explanation of cognitive shuffling?
- Is there any research to support cognitive shuffling for sleep? Are there any limitations/caveats to the research — what's the quality of the research?
- Is there an ideal time to do this technique (is it when you notice your thoughts are racing? When you’ve been lying in bed awake for longer than 20 minutes? Anytime you wake up during the night and can't fall back asleep?)
- How can you do cognitive shuffling? Looking for 3-5 tips with a few sentences of explanation.
- At what point do you determine that cognitive shuffling isn’t doing the trick, and you need professional help to improve your sleep?
