OpenAI is losing billions but Nvidia is still investing at least $100 billion in the company. This raises doubts over this circular investment scheme which looks a lot like a bubble, doesn't it? Over the last few days, warnings came from the Bank of England, the IMF, JP Morgan.
A few questions: despite all the hype, are AI companies overvalued? Are we seeing some sort of financial engineering?
Early AI entrepreneur Jerry Kaplan said last week: "When the bubble breaks, it's going to be really bad, and not just for people in AI. It's going to drag down the rest of the economy." Do you agree and why?
Are increasingly complex financing arrangements clouding perceptions on AI demand? Is that actually the point?
